Providing immediate support for students

Thanks to generous donors, UCLA undergraduate and graduate students across campus can focus on their studies, build real-world skills and develop leadership experience.

With more than 46,000 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled, UCLA seeks to meet a vast range of ongoing needs — and donors have stepped up to help.

At our university, every gift of every size matters. And while every donation makes a difference, current-use giving — as its name suggests — is a form of giving that makes a positive change right away.

Take a look at some of the ways these donations are having an impact on today’s Bruins.

Gifts to the Center for Opportunity to Maximize Participation, Access and Student Success (COMPASS) create opportunities for students to explore exciting educational and career options in science, technology, engineering and math. Through hands-on research, internships, coaching and enrichment programs, COMPASS fosters diversity and prepares students to become the next generation of leaders in these fields.

Donor support for the UCLA Extension Vets Count Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to help active-duty U.S. military personnel and U.S. veterans — as well as members of their immediate families — pursue education or careers in the field of finance. By lessening the financial barriers to a world-class education, donors enable people from military backgrounds to embark on promising new careers in financial planning, accountancy and more.

Music thrives in — even depends on — a rich mix of social and cultural backgrounds. Donations to The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music Equity, Diversity, Access & Inclusion fund ensure the school can continue to welcome students from all walks of life. Gifts increase financial support for students, providing talented musicians and scholars of music access to a premier education.

In these and many other ways, current-use giving proves vital to UCLA students. You, too, can help Bruins across campus achieve educational and career success.
